Chapter 4 Cafeteria Conflict

Class was over, and Henry left the classroom. The people inside also headed to the cafeteria to eat, everyone going in groups. On the way, Henry tried to avoid crowded places.

Kyle watched his departing figure without saying a word. At this moment, Lucas and Frank came over, "Is Jason eating in the cafeteria today or going out?"

"In the cafeteria," Kyle said, then got up and walked out.

The two behind him looked at each other, "Don''t you think Jason is acting strange?" Frank said, scratching his head.

"Not sure, let''s go, hurry up or Jason will disappear." Lucas said, pulling Frank''s hand.

In the cafeteria, after getting his food, Henry found a less crowded corner to eat. It was peak time in the cafeteria.

Just as Henry finished eating and was about to leave, someone accidentally bumped into him, spilling the soup in their hand all over Henry.

"Sorry, it was an accident," the person said without a hint of apology. The few followers behind him also started to jeer.

Henry looked at the stuff on himself, then looked up at the person in front of him, "It''s fine." He said, intending to leave, but the person in front of him didn''t make it easy for him to go.

"How about I buy you a new shirt? After all, you''re the top student!" The words were clearly sarcastic. Because of the crowd, everyone started looking over to see what was happening.

More and more people were looking over, and Henry didn''t want to waste time on this, "No need, can you move aside? Also, I don''t know you."

As soon as Henry said this, the arrogant person in front of him changed his expression, "You don''t know me?"

Then, looking at Henry''s expressionless face, it seemed like he was saying, should I know you?

"Right, how could someone like you remember me? Always so busy," Marcus sneered.

Hearing this, Henry recalled in his mind but couldn''t remember knowing this person in front of him.

"Sorry, I really don''t know you, and I really need to leave now. Please ask your friends to move aside." Henry didn''t want to waste more time here.

Seeing Henry like this, Marcus felt like he was being mocked. He hated Henry the most.

Since freshman year, he didn''t like Henry, always with a cold face, indifferent to others, which made Marcus, who was always pampered, very annoyed.

Moreover, Henry always outperformed him in grades, "I''m not letting you go today."

Kyle and his friends had just arrived at the cafeteria and saw a crowd in one corner. Kyle didn''t intend to intervene, but hearing someone mention Henry''s name, he changed direction and walked over.

Then he called out to the two people in front, "What''s happening over there?"

The two girls who were called turned around and saw it was Kyle, their faces turned red, "We don''t know exactly, it seems like Marcus from class eight spilled soup on Henry and won''t let him leave."

One of the girls, blushing, told Kyle the gist of the situation. After hearing this, Kyle quickened his pace towards that direction.

Lucas and the others, who came in a step behind Kyle, saw him walking in a different direction, "Hey, Jason, the food line is not that way, where are you going?"

Frank shouted from behind, but Kyle ignored him. When he walked over, he saw Henry surrounded by people and another person.

"What do you want?" Henry asked upon hearing his words.

Before Marcus could speak, Kyle walked in, "What''s going on?"

Marcus saw Kyle walking towards Henry. As far as he knew, Kyle had nothing to do with Henry, so why was he intervening today?

"Nothing, just accidentally spilled soup on Henry and wanted to buy him a new shirt," Marcus said to Kyle.

"Oh, really?" Kyle said to Marcus.

Marcus looked at Kyle, feeling a bit scared. Even if Kyle did nothing, just standing there was intimidating.

"That''s it, I meant no harm."

Kyle ignored him and asked Henry, "He wants to buy you a new shirt, do you accept?"

Henry looked at Kyle, who had appeared halfway through, "No need."

After getting his answer, Kyle said to Marcus, "Did you hear that? He doesn''t need it, you can leave now."

Hearing this, Marcus had no choice but to leave. After all, Kyle was not someone he could mess with. Even though Kyle usually didn''t like to get involved in things at school, those who knew his background tried to avoid him.

Soon, Marcus left with his followers. Seeing that nothing was happening, the crowd also dispersed. After everyone left, Henry thanked the person who helped him, "Thank you for helping me out."

"No problem, go change your clothes quickly," Kyle said, looking at the soup on Henry.

Henry nodded and was about to leave when Kyle added, "I''ll throw away your food for you."

Henry looked at the food in his hand and then at the person in front of him, "No need, I''ll do it myself." He said and then left.

Kyle watched his departing figure without saying a word. Rejected again. This person doesn''t seem to like accepting help from others.

The two people who came with Kyle were stunned by his actions. When had their Jason ever cared about others'' business? And he even wanted to throw away someone else''s food, which they couldn''t believe.

"Lucas, pinch me, am I dreaming?" Frank said to Lucas beside him.

Lucas unceremoniously pinched him, resulting in Frank''s exclamation, "Ouch, do you have to be so hard? It hurts!"

"Didn''t you ask me to pinch you?" Lucas said, speechless.

"You, fine, you win."

Frank didn''t want to argue with him anymore and asked Kyle, "Jason, you''re acting strange, why did you help Henry?"

"I help because I want to. Are we eating or not?" Kyle didn''t answer his question and continued walking.

"But you weren''t like this before. You didn''t like getting involved in these things. Why are you different with Henry? You didn''t even know him before." Frank said a lot behind Kyle, but the person in front didn''t seem to have any intention of answering.

The students in the cafeteria were all looking at Frank. Although they couldn''t hear clearly what he was saying, Kyle was beside him, the person who could be compared to the top student in their grade.

Not to mention his grades, just his face could spark discussions. Who doesn''t like a handsome guy?

"Why are you talking so much today? Even food can''t shut you up." After getting his food, Frank was still talking.

After a look from Kyle, Frank didn''t dare to say anything more and quietly ate his food. Lucas, beside him, couldn''t help but laugh at Frank''s misfortune.

Actually, Kyle himself didn''t know why he did it. As soon as he heard Henry''s name, he couldn''t help but want to check it out. He usually didn''t like getting involved in these things, but with Henry, it was different.

He couldn''t help but want to understand this person, to see what could make someone like him show a bit of emotion.

Back in the dorm, Henry changed out of his dirty clothes. While washing his clothes, he couldn''t help but think of Kyle. This person had been appearing in his sight quite frequently lately.

Like today, he didn''t expect Kyle to help him. But what he couldn''t understand was why Kyle helped him when they didn''t even know each other.

This person always did things that he didn''t expect. He could handle these things well himself, but Kyle would take care of his unimportant wounds and today''s incident.

There were too many things he couldn''t figure out. A shirt that could be washed quickly took him a long time to wash. He thought, forget it, he helped me, I''ll repay him next time. He didn''t want to owe anyone a favor.
